Art Porter Sr.

A newspaper writer noted that Porter’s “natural gifts” were “polished by intelligence, flawless phrasing and good taste…with modesty.”  Referred to as an Arkansas treasure, his imprint continues to inspire generations.

Art Porter Jr. was a great musician and a tremendous performer. More than that, Art was a warm and generous spirit who touched all who met him and heard his music.

Art Porter Singers

Art Porter Sr. organized the Art Porter Singers in December 1976. He assembled former Horace Mann High School choir members, their spouses, and friends at Bethel A. M. E. Church, Little Rock, to present a program of Christmas music.
